AKO MiSMO

"Simulan mo ang pagkilos tungo sa muling pagbangon ng Pilipinas. Maliit man o malaki, ikaw mismo ang magsasabi kung ano ang gagawin mo."

I never get to watch television most of the time, so I when I had the chance I was amazed by this commercial, Ako Mismo campaign, which includes most of the influential people of our time. And they have this campaign that our country's real problem is not poverty but the lack of people to cooperate or we just lack the initiatives to perform our duty, which is quite true.

I think the commercial (or campaign should I say) is quite effective. I mean I took up BroadComm class last sem and I know (I believe I know) what constitutes a good commercial. And I think with how the artists deliver there speeches, they did it well.

I read several blogs containing the same topic and they have different views on this one. Some say it's just another campaign, like any other, some say that it's good and the others don't care. On my point of view, you don't need a campaign to do tasks that YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. But since, many do care, (I believe) they came up with this Ad to initiate the hidden leader on every Filipino :)

Now, what every one of us should do, is do our task and, like the campaign, try to initiate others to make a move to improve lives. If they don't want to, do your thing and leave them behind. I remember a good professor saying (Hello Pabs), if you look up our system, "wala ka na talaga magagawa, andaming sira ulo dyan ee pero bakit mo sila papakialaman. Do your thing. Kung iisipin mo na bakit ako kikilos ee hindi ko naman mababago ang sistema ehdi wala rin kung kumilos ako, wala tayong mararating". I always believe on doing my own thing, but never doing it for the sake of others, but if you did try, even for a time, it feels good. And then Pabs (he doesn't like to be called Prof or mentor or whatsoever, he prefers the nickname) concluded, "If you see an elephant, iisipn mo, pano ko 'to kakainin? Hindi mo magagawa kasi ang laki niya di ba? Pero try to eat it my parts, sure ako matatapos ka" :)

It takes one move to go forward and another to progress, right?

I really like the dog tag, and Ely Buendia is the reason I stopped by the television and watch it. Not a bad result to me, though :)
