CAN I JUST SAY...
I'm going crazy doing my Impressionism Art App report! Degas, Manet and Monet are gods! I'm going research fail looking for their painting techniques. I didn't post Monet's waterlilies cause he painted a few waterlilies, so there are quite a lot. Plus the pictures, I got from some site through Google, so definitely not mine, thanks for that site :DD
But I'm learning to love the Impressionism Art, so here's a few of what I learned (from the web and art books) :
-Impressionism art were classified through their way of doing their art, or if not, the arts were usually refused by the Salon
-style in which the artist captures the image of an object as someone would see it, kind of they just caught a glimpse of it
-techniques: short brush stroke, pure unblended colors, emphasis on the effects of light
-loose imagery
worked MOSTLY outdoors (en-plein-air)
I have this dream of being a painter. FO'REAL! :)) My mom used to buy me acrylic paint and whatever art papers but wala e, no talent at all! =))
Vincent Van Gogh is a more interesting character among the great artists of the past. Anyway he's actually belong to post-impressionist but Van Gogh should be among your list of painters for your report. Van Gogh was also a gifted writer, writing passionate letters to his younger brother. In fact, he's personality resemble as that of Veronika. Van Gogh also attempted to take his own life at age 37. He lives for three more days then he died.
ReplyDeleteHe's my favorite artist of all time, actually.
I'm done reporting, plus we were given specific artists to discuss and also, just like what you said Van Gogh's from Post-Impressionism, so not included in my assigned movement.
ReplyDeleteThanks anyway :)
